Originally from Uruguay, Ornella Gallo Di Fortuna, creative director and designer, has lived in Montevideo, Madrid, Italy and London, where she is now based.

Ornella has been linked to the fashion industry from a very early age, as her mother owned a couture atelier of formal wear in Uruguay. She graduated with a focus in fashion design, pattern cutting and fashion textiles in Madrid.

After assisting and learning from her mother at the atelier, she began to work with renowned designers in Spain and as a result began leading design teams of women’s wear, children’s wear and bridal. In 2006 she opened her first atelier in Madrid with formal wear and ready to wear. And in 2008, she was awarded The Young Fashion Designer of the Year by the Mayor of Madrid.

At the end of 2012 she moved to London to start a new business venture. She has completed her Fashion Business studies at Central St. Martins and since then has had the chance to put all her industry knowledge into practice.

Ornella’s work has been featured in publications including VOGUE Spain and ELLE. Her collections have been exhibited at private events in Madrid, Barcelona, A Coruna, Punta Del Este, London and Milan.

Ornella prefers to exhibit in art galleries due to their intimate atmosphere and opportunities to understand and relate to her clients needs.

Ornella often finds inspiration and creative direction from art and considers painting and drawing to be an essential part of her creative process. Her study of sculptural shapes and origami has had an influence on her work and is especially prominent in her latest collection.

The Atelier

The Atelier is in Battersea London and Barcelona where we have a team of in-house pattern cutters and seamstresses. We also work with some of the most respected tailors and British embroiders on special projects. Each garment comes with its own set of unique requirements and we pride ourselves on finding the right design of specialists to work towards creating the perfect finish and fit.

In our showroom we have a range of garments which you can try on and an endless selection of beautiful fabrics from the best mills in England, France and Italy.
